It started with
a search.
A freshman-year experience that turned into an idea.
When I first arrived at Temple as a freshman, one of the things I was most excited about was being involved within the community. I wanted to meet people, explore my interests, and find clubs where I could belong.
I thought finding them would be easy.
Instead, I found myself navigating the maze of Suitable, struggling to find clubs that matched my interests. Its limited search functionality made discovery unnecessarily difficult; unless I knew a club's exact name, finding it was basically impossible. And even when I did find a club that interested me, it was only half the challenge.
Once I found a club, I still had to figure out how to actually join it. That often meant jumping between Instagram, GroupMe, and pages that weren't always up-to-date.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized the problem wasn't just search. The whole process assumed people already knew exactly what they were looking for.
But a lot of us don't. That's the point of exploring.
So I decided to build what I myself wanted in that situation.
